UPSTREAM: ALSA: usb-audio: Fix out of bounds reads when finding clock sources
commit a3dd4d63eeb452cfb064a13862fb376ab108f6a6 upstream. The current USB-audio driver code doesn't check bLength of each descriptor at traversing for clock descriptors. That is, when a device provides a bogus descriptor with a shorter bLength, the driver might hit out-of-bounds reads. For addressing it, this patch adds sanity checks to the validator functions for the clock descriptor traversal. When the descriptor length is shorter than expected, it's skipped in the loop. For the clock source and clock multiplier descriptors, we can just check bLength against the sizeof() of each descriptor type. OTOH, the clock selector descriptor of UAC2 and UAC3 has an array of bNrInPins elements and two more fields at its tail, hence those have to be checked in addition to the sizeof() check. UPSTREAM: ALSA: usb-audio: Fix a DMA to stack memory bug
commit f7d306b47a24367302bd4fe846854e07752ffcd9 upstream.
The usb_get_descriptor() function does DMA so we're not allowed
to use a stack buffer for that. Doing DMA to the stack is not portable
all architectures. Move the "new_device_descriptor" from being stored
on the stack and allocate it with kmalloc() instead.

ASoC: codecs: Fix atomicity violation in snd_soc_component_get_drvdata()
commit 1157733344651ca505e259d6554591ff156922fa upstream.
An atomicity violation occurs when the validity of the variables
da7219->clk_src and da7219->mclk_rate is being assessed. Since the entire
assessment is not protected by a lock, the da7219 variable might still be
in flux during the assessment, rendering this check invalid.
To fix this issue, we recommend adding a lock before the block
if ((da7219->clk_src == clk_id) && (da7219->mclk_rate == freq)) so that
the legitimacy check for da7219->clk_src and da7219->mclk_rate is
protected by the lock, ensuring the validity of the check.
This possible bug is found by an experimental static analysis tool
developed by our team. This tool analyzes the locking APIs
to extract function pairs that can be concurrently executed, and then
analyzes the instructions in the paired functions to identify possible
concurrency bugs including data races and atomicity violations.

ALSA: 6fire: Release resources at card release

The current 6fire code tries to release the resources right after the
call of usb6fire_chip_abort(). But at this moment, the card object
might be still in use (as we're calling snd_card_free_when_closed()).
For avoid potential UAFs, move the release of resources to the card's
private_free instead of the manual call of usb6fire_chip_destroy() at
the USB disconnect callback.

The USB disconnect callback is supposed to be short and not too-long
waiting. OTOH, the current code uses snd_card_free() at
disconnection, but this waits for the close of all used fds, hence it
can take long. It eventually blocks the upper layer USB ioctls, which
may trigger a soft lockup.
An easy workaround is to replace snd_card_free() with
snd_card_free_when_closed(). This variant returns immediately while
the release of resources is done asynchronously by the card device
release at the last close.
This patch also splits the code to the disconnect and the free phases;
the former is called immediately at the USB disconnect callback while
the latter is called from the card destructor.

ALSA: usb-audio: Add quirks for Dell WD19 dock
[ Upstream commit 4413665dd6c528b31284119e3571c25f371e1c36 ] The WD19 family of docks has the same audio chipset as the WD15. This change enables jack detection on the WD19. We don't need the dell_dock_mixer_init quirk for the WD19. It is only needed because of the dell_alc4020_map quirk for the WD15 in mixer_maps.c, which disables the volume controls. Even for the WD15, this quirk was apparently only needed when the dock firmware was not updated. ALSA: usb-audio: Support jack detection on Dell dock
[ Upstream commit 4b8ea38fabab45ad911a32a336416062553dfe9c ] The Dell WD15 dock has a headset and a line out port. Add support for detecting if a jack is inserted into one of these ports. For the headset jack, additionally determine if a mic is present. The WD15 contains an ALC4020 USB audio controller and ALC3263 audio codec from Realtek. It is a UAC 1 device, and UAC 1 does not support jack detection. Instead, jack detection works by sending HD Audio commands over vendor-type USB messages. I found out how it works by looking at USB captures on Windows. The audio codec is very similar to the one supported by sound/soc/codecs/rt298.c / rt298.h, some constant names and the mic detection are adapted from there. The realtek_add_jack function is adapted from build_connector_control in sound/usb/mixer.c. I tested this on a WD15 dock with the latest firmware. ALSA: usb-audio: Add custom mixer status quirks for RME CC devices
[ Upstream commit d39f1d68fe1de1f9dbe167a73f0f605226905e27 ] Adds several vendor specific mixer quirks for RME's Class Compliant USB devices. These provide extra status information from the device otherwise not available. These include AES/SPDIF rate and status information, current system sampling rate and measured frequency. This information is especially useful in cases where device's clock is slaved to external clock source. ALSA: hda/conexant: Fix conflicting quirk for System76 Pangolin

We received a regression report for System76 Pangolin (pang14) due to
the recent fix for Tuxedo Sirius devices to support the top speaker.
The reason was the conflicting PCI SSID, as often seen.
As a workaround, now the codec SSID is checked and the quirk is
applied conditionally only to Sirius devices.

ALSA: hda/generic: Unconditionally prefer preferred_dacs pairs

Some time ago, we introduced the obey_preferred_dacs flag for choosing
the DAC/pin pairs specified by the driver instead of parsing the
paths. This works as expected, per se, but there have been a few
cases where we forgot to set this flag while preferred_dacs table is
already set up. It ended up with incorrect wiring and made us
wondering why it doesn't work.
Basically, when the preferred_dacs table is provided, it means that
the driver really wants to wire up to follow that. That is, the
presence of the preferred_dacs table itself is already a "do-it"
flag.
In this patch, we simply replace the evaluation of obey_preferred_dacs
flag with the presence of preferred_dacs table for fixing the
misbehavior. Another patch to drop of the obsoleted flag will
follow.

ALSA: usb-audio: Sanity checks for each pipe and EP types

ALSA: timer: Relax start tick time check for slave timer elements
commit ccbfcac05866ebe6eb3bc6d07b51d4ed4fcde436 upstream.
The recent addition of a sanity check for a too low start tick time
seems breaking some applications that uses aloop with a certain slave
timer setup. They may have the initial resolution 0, hence it's
treated as if it were a too low value.
Relax and skip the check for the slave timer instance for addressing
the regression.

ALSA: line6: Fix racy access to midibuf
commit 15b7a03205b31bc5623378c190d22b7ff60026f1 upstream. There can be concurrent accesses to line6 midibuf from both the URB completion callback and the rawmidi API access. This could be a cause of KMSAN warning triggered by syzkaller below (so put as reported-by here). This patch protects the midibuf call of the former code path with a spinlock for avoiding the possible races. ALSA: usb-audio: Correct surround channels in UAC1 channel map

USB-audio driver puts SNDRV_CHMAP_SL and _SR as left and right
surround channels for UAC1 channel map, respectively. But they should
have been SNDRV_CHMAP_RL and _RR; the current value *_SL and _SR are
rather "side" channels, not "surround". I guess I took those
mistakenly when I read the spec mentioning "surround left".
This patch corrects those entries to be the right channels.

ALSA: dmaengine_pcm: terminate dmaengine before synchronize
[ Upstream commit 6a7db25aad8ce6512b366d2ce1d0e60bac00a09d ] When dmaengine supports pause function, in suspend state, dmaengine_pause() is called instead of dmaengine_terminate_async(), In end of playback stream, the runtime->state will go to SNDRV_PCM_STATE_DRAINING, if system suspend & resume happen at this time, application will not resume playback stream, the stream will be closed directly, the dmaengine_terminate_async() will not be called before the dmaengine_synchronize(), which violates the call sequence for dmaengine_synchronize(). This behavior also happens for capture streams, but there is no SNDRV_PCM_STATE_DRAINING state for capture. So use dmaengine_tx_status() to check the DMA status if the status is DMA_PAUSED, then call dmaengine_terminate_async() to terminate dmaengine before dmaengine_synchronize(). ASoC: fsl-asoc-card: set priv->pdev before using it

priv->pdev pointer was set after being used in
fsl_asoc_card_audmux_init().
Move this assignment at the start of the probe function, so
sub-functions can correctly use pdev through priv.
fsl_asoc_card_audmux_init() dereferences priv->pdev to get access to the
dev struct, used with dev_err macros.
As priv is zero-initialised, there would be a NULL pointer dereference.
Note that if priv->dev is dereferenced before assignment but never used,
for example if there is no error to be printed, the driver won't crash
probably due to compiler optimisations.
